The Role:
As an Audit Supervisor, you'll play a key role in planning, supervising, and executing full end-to-end audits while mentoring junior team members and supporting the wider team. You'll also contribute to business advisory projects, offering a dynamic role that goes beyond traditional auditing.
Key Responsibilities -
Audit Leadership:
- Lead audits for companies across various industries, from planning to finalisation.
- Supervise on-site audit teams, review work, and provide technical coaching to junior staff.
- Conduct substantive and controls-based audits, including group audits.
Client Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
- Draft management recommendations and close-out meeting agendas following fieldwork.
- Identify business development opportunities with clients and liaise with partners to progress them.
Technical & Advisory Work:
- Prepare statutory and consolidated accounts in compliance with UK GAAP and auditing standards.
- Handle tax computations and Corporation Tax returns with support from the tax team.
- Assist with specialist work, including benchmarking reports, management information reviews, and proposal pitches.
Team Development:
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff through on-the-job training and internal training courses.
- Motivate and inspire teams to deliver exceptional work while fostering a positive team culture.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:
- ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent internationally recognised chartered accounting qualification.
- Demonstrable experience leading audit teams, including group audits, and working on companies with turnovers of £20m+.
- Strong technical skills and understanding of UK GAAP, auditing standards, and primary accounting frameworks.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- A proactive, personable, and client-focused approach.
