Job Summary:


We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Boston. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing client accounts, overseeing financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Key Responsibilities:


  • Financial Statement Preparation:
    • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports for a diverse client portfolio.

  • Client Management:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and providing exceptional service.
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs and proactively offering solutions.

  • Audit Support:
    • Assist in the preparation of work papers and schedules for external audits and reviews.
    • Coordinate with auditors and respond to requests for information during audit processes.

  • Tax Compliance:
    • Prepare and review individual and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
    • Stay updated on changes in tax laws that may affect clients.

  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing training and guidance to enhance their professional development.
    • Review junior staff work for accuracy and compliance with firm standards.

  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in accounting practices.
    • Participate in developing and documenting accounting policies and procedures.

  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards in accounting practices.
    • Maintain awareness of industry trends and best practices.


Qualifications:


  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • Certifications:
    • CPA designation is highly preferred; candidates pursuing CPA certification will also be considered.

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience in a public accounting environment.
    • Experience with audit and tax compliance is a plus.

  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
