Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Boston. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing client accounts, overseeing financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Key Responsibilities:
Financial Statement Preparation:- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports for a diverse client portfolio.
Client Management:- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and providing exceptional service.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs and proactively offering solutions.
Audit Support:- Assist in the preparation of work papers and schedules for external audits and reviews.
- Coordinate with auditors and respond to requests for information during audit processes.
Tax Compliance:- Prepare and review individual and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws that may affect clients.
Team Leadership:- Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing training and guidance to enhance their professional development.
- Review junior staff work for accuracy and compliance with firm standards.
Process Improvement:- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in accounting practices.
- Participate in developing and documenting accounting policies and procedures.
Regulatory Compliance:- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards in accounting practices.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
Education:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Certifications:- CPA designation is highly preferred; candidates pursuing CPA certification will also be considered.
Experience:- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience in a public accounting environment.
- Experience with audit and tax compliance is a plus.
Skills:- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
