My client is a top 10 CPA firm in Georgia, and they are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Tax Associate to join our tax team. The Senior Tax Associate will be responsible for managing tax compliance and planning for a diverse portfolio of clients while providing guidance to junior staff. Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance:- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax legislation.
Tax Planning and Advisory:- Assist in developing tax strategies to optimize clients' tax positions and minimize liabilities.
- Provide guidance on various tax issues, including mergers and acquisitions, entity structuring, and tax-efficient strategies.
- Conduct thorough tax research to support planning decisions and client inquiries.
Client Relationship Management:- Serve as a primary contact for clients, addressing their questions and providing proactive solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by delivering exceptional service and support.
- Communicate tax strategies and compliance results clearly to clients and management.
Supervision and Mentorship:- Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, providing training and support to enhance their skills and professional growth.
- Review junior staff work for accuracy and completeness, offering constructive feedback.
Process Improvement:- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiencies within the tax compliance and planning practices.
- Contribute to the development and documentation of tax policies and procedures.
Quality Control:- Ensure all tax engagements meet the firm's quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in internal reviews and quality control assessments as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred.
Certifications:- CPA designation is required; additional certifications such as EA or MST are a plus.
Experience:- Minimum of 3-5 years of tax compliance and consulting experience in a public accounting environment.
- Experience working with a diverse range of clients across various industries is preferred.
Skills:- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
