Senior Tax Associate

Job Summary:


My client is a top 10 CPA firm in Georgia, and they are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Tax Associate to join our tax team. The Senior Tax Associate will be responsible for managing tax compliance and planning for a diverse portfolio of clients while providing guidance to junior staff. Key Responsibilities:


  • Tax Compliance:
    • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax legislation.

  • Tax Planning and Advisory:
    • Assist in developing tax strategies to optimize clients' tax positions and minimize liabilities.
    • Provide guidance on various tax issues, including mergers and acquisitions, entity structuring, and tax-efficient strategies.
    • Conduct thorough tax research to support planning decisions and client inquiries.

  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Serve as a primary contact for clients, addressing their questions and providing proactive solutions.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by delivering exceptional service and support.
    • Communicate tax strategies and compliance results clearly to clients and management.

  • Supervision and Mentorship:
    • Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, providing training and support to enhance their skills and professional growth.
    • Review junior staff work for accuracy and completeness, offering constructive feedback.

  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiencies within the tax compliance and planning practices.
    • Contribute to the development and documentation of tax policies and procedures.

  • Quality Control:
    • Ensure all tax engagements meet the firm's quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
    • Participate in internal reviews and quality control assessments as needed.


Qualifications:


  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred.

  • Certifications:
    • CPA designation is required; additional certifications such as EA or MST are a plus.

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of tax compliance and consulting experience in a public accounting environment.
    • Experience working with a diverse range of clients across various industries is preferred.

  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
    • Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
