Tax Staff Accountant

Job Summary:


We are representing a leading CPA firm in Georgia who are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Staff Accountant to join their tax team. The Tax Staff Accountant will support tax compliance and planning activities for a diverse portfolio of clients. Key Responsibilities:


  • Tax Compliance:
    • Prepare and assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations.
    • Review and analyze financial statements and other documents to ensure accurate reporting of income and expenses.

  • Research and Analysis:
    • Conduct tax research on various issues, staying updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
    • Assist in the analysis of client data to identify potential tax-saving opportunities and recommend strategies.

  • Client Interaction:
    • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information for tax return preparation and respond to inquiries.
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and support.

  • Collaboration and Support:
    • Work closely with senior staff to support tax planning efforts and special projects as needed.
    • Assist in the preparation of supporting documentation and work papers for tax compliance and audits.

  • Continuing Education:
    • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge of tax regulations.

  • Quality Control:
    • Ensure all work complies with firm policies and professional standards.
    • Participate in internal reviews and quality control processes as necessary.


Qualifications:


  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred.

  • Certifications:
    • CPA eligibility preferred; candidates pursuing CPA certification are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience:
    • 0-2 years of accounting or tax experience, including internships or relevant coursework in tax.

  • Skills:
    • Basic understanding of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
    • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ProConnect) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
