Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance:- Prepare and assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations.
- Review and analyze financial statements and other documents to ensure accurate reporting of income and expenses.
Research and Analysis:- Conduct tax research on various issues, staying updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Assist in the analysis of client data to identify potential tax-saving opportunities and recommend strategies.
Client Interaction:- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information for tax return preparation and respond to inquiries.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and support.
Collaboration and Support:- Work closely with senior staff to support tax planning efforts and special projects as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of supporting documentation and work papers for tax compliance and audits.
Continuing Education:- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge of tax regulations.
Quality Control:- Ensure all work complies with firm policies and professional standards.
- Participate in internal reviews and quality control processes as necessary.
Qualifications:
Education:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred.
Certifications:- CPA eligibility preferred; candidates pursuing CPA certification are encouraged to apply.
Experience:- 0-2 years of accounting or tax experience, including internships or relevant coursework in tax.
Skills:- Basic understanding of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ProConnect) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
