Audit Associate

Job Summary:

We are partnered with a leading top 10 CPA firm in Illinois, they are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Audit Associate to join their audit team. The Audit Associate will assist in executing audit engagements for a diverse range of clients, contributing to the delivery of high-quality audit services. Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit Execution:

    • Assist in planning and executing audit engagements in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS).
    • Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures to assess financial statements and underlying records.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Prepare detailed work papers that document audit procedures performed and conclusions reached.
    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP and other applicable standards.
  • Client Interaction:

    • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and address inquiries during the audit process.
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients through effective communication and responsiveness.
  • Team Collaboration:

    • Work closely with senior auditors and managers, providing support and contributing to team objectives.
    • Participate in team meetings and discussions to enhance audit processes and methodologies.
  • Quality Control:

    • Ensure compliance with firm policies and professional standards throughout the audit process.
    • Participate in internal reviews and quality control initiatives as directed.
  • Professional Development:

    • Engage in ongoing learning and professional development opportunities, including training sessions and workshops.
    • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, regulations, and best practices within the audit profession.


Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Certifications:

    • CPA eligibility preferred; candidates pursuing CPA certification are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience:

    • 0-2 years of audit experience or relevant internship experience in public accounting.
  • Skills:

    • Basic understanding of GAAP, GAAS, and auditing principles.
    • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., ProSystem fx, CaseWare) and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
