We are currently partnered with an amazing CPA firm in Illinois, who are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Supervisor to join their dynamic tax team. The Tax Supervisor will oversee tax compliance and advisory services for a diverse client portfolio, mentor junior staff, and ensure the delivery of high-quality tax solutions. Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance Oversight:- Supervise the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations and deadlines, identifying opportunities for tax savings.
Tax Planning and Advisory Services:- Assist in developing and implementing effective tax strategies for clients to optimize their tax positions.
- Provide expert guidance on complex tax issues, including mergers and acquisitions, business structuring, and tax-efficient strategies.
- Conduct thorough tax research and analysis to support planning decisions.
Client Relationship Management:- Serve as a primary contact for clients, addressing their inquiries and providing proactive solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by delivering exceptional service and support.
- Communicate tax strategies and compliance results clearly to clients and management.
Team Leadership and Development:- Mentor and supervise junior tax staff, providing training and guidance to enhance their skills and professional development.
- Review junior staff work for accuracy and completeness, offering constructive feedback and performance evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team culture that promotes professional growth.
Quality Control and Compliance:- Ensure all tax engagements meet the firm's quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in internal reviews and quality control processes to maintain high levels of service quality.
Business Development:- Identify opportunities for additional services and assist in business development initiatives to expand the firm's tax practice.
- Participate in marketing efforts, including networking events and seminars.
Qualifications:
Education:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred.
Certifications:- CPA designation required; additional certifications such as EA or MST are a plus.
Experience:- Minimum of 5-7 years of tax compliance and consulting experience in a public accounting environment.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects and client relationships effectively.
Skills:- In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
- Proficient in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
