We are currently partnered with a prestigious CPA firm in Illinois who are seeking a skilled and results-oriented Accounting Manager to join their dynamic team. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and managing client relationships. Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:- Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results to clients and internal stakeholders.
Client Management:- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
- Communicate effectively with clients to address inquiries and provide guidance on accounting matters.
Team Leadership and Development:- Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff, providing training and support to enhance their professional growth.
- Conduct performance evaluations, setting goals and objectives for team members.
Compliance and Internal Controls:- Ensure adherence to firm policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard client assets and maintain financial integrity.
Budgeting and Forecasting:- Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve clients' financial performance.
Process Improvement:- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiencies within the accounting department.
- Contribute to the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
Quality Assurance:- Review work products for accuracy and completeness, ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
Qualifications:
Education:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Certifications:- CPA designation required; additional certifications such as CMA or CIA are a plus.
Experience:- Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience in public accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
Skills:- Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
