Tax Consultant

Job Summary:


We are currently partnered with a leading CPA firm in Miami, FL who are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Tax Consultant to join their tax team. The Tax Consultant will provide expert tax advice and compliance services to a diverse range of clients, helping them navigate complex tax regulations and optimize their tax positions. Key Responsibilities:


  • Tax Compliance:
    • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax legislation.

  • Tax Planning and Advisory:
    • Assist clients with tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize financial efficiency.
    • Provide expert advice on various tax matters, including tax credits, deductions, and incentives.
    • Conduct thorough research and analysis on complex tax issues to develop actionable recommendations for clients.

  • Client Interaction:
    • Serve as a primary contact for clients, addressing their questions and providing proactive solutions to their tax needs.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through exceptional service and effective communication.

  • Collaboration and Support:
    • Work closely with senior tax staff and management to support various tax-related projects and initiatives.
    • Assist in the preparation of supporting documentation and work papers for tax compliance and audits.

  • Training and Development:
    • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and changes in tax legislation to provide clients with the most relevant information.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities, including training sessions and workshops.

  • Quality Control:
    • Review work for accuracy and compliance with firm policies and professional standards.
    • Participate in internal reviews and quality control processes as needed.


Qualifications:


  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred.

  • Certifications:
    • CPA designation preferred; candidates pursuing CPA certification are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience:
    • 2-5 years of tax compliance and consulting experience in a public accounting environment.
    • Experience working with a diverse range of clients across various industries is preferred.

  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
    • Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
