Practice Accountant (12 months FTC)

We are seeking a Practice Accountant for Maternity Cover, based in Bushey. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will handle practice assurance, regulatory compliance, financial management, and operational compliance. This is a hybrid role in the office for 3 days, 2 days remote per week.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee monthly management accounts, providing analysis and support to the Finance Director.
• Prepare financial metrics reports for teams and partners, including billing, profitability, debt, and WIP management, with gap analysis to targets.
• Manage the Fee Protection Scheme, ensuring accurate billing and prompt handling of client queries.
• Oversee reconciliations with insurance providers and maintain updated records.
• Handle annual office insurance renewals, including claims management.
• Support firm-wide financial risk management and oversee international accounting (VAT, tax returns, etc.).

Experience required:

• ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
• Experience in professional practice
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across all levels
• Knowledge of professional service firms
• Proactive, self-motivated, and driven to suggest improvements

On offer to the successful candidate is a 12 month FTC covering maternity and working with an established business, you will receive a competitive salary £47,000 - £52,000 and competitive benefits package.
