Property Tax Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Property Tax Manager to join our clients consulting firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property tax management, particularly in the energy industry, and possess relevant certifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex property tax portfolios for clients, focusing on energy sector assets
- Conduct property valuations and assessments
- Prepare and file property tax returns
- Negotiate with tax authorities to minimize client tax liabilities
- Represent clients in tax appeal hearings and litigation processes
- Develop and implement property tax strategies
- Stay current with relevant tax laws and regulations
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to business development efforts
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of experience in property tax management, preferably in a consulting environment
- TDLR (Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation) License or other relevant certification/designation (e.g., CMI - Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation)
- Demonstrated experience in the energy industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Proficiency in relevant software and databases
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; Master's degree preferred
