Audit Manager


We are seeking an experienced Audit Manager with a CPA designation to join our clients growing mid-sized CPA firm in Manhattan. The ideal candidate will lead multiple engagement teams, manage client relationships, and ensure high-quality audit deliverables while developing staff and contributing to the firm's growth.



Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute multiple concurrent audit engagements across various industries while maintaining project budgets and timelines
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop audit teams, including seniors and staff accountants
  • Review work papers, financial statements, and audit reports to ensure compliance with GAAP, GAAS, and firm policies
  • Manage client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders
  • Identify and communicate significant audit and accounting issues to partners and clients
  • Prepare and review technical memos addressing complex accounting issues
  • Participate in the preparation and presentation of audit findings to client management and audit committees
  • Contribute to proposal development and business development initiatives
  • Assist in staff scheduling, resource allocation, and engagement budgeting
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to team members


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Active CPA license
  • 3+ years of public accounting experience with progressive responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, GAAS, and internal control frameworks
  • Experience managing multiple engagements simultaneously
  • Proficiency with audit software and Microsoft Office Suite


Technical Skills

  • Experience with audit methodology and risk assessment procedures
  • Knowledge of audit automation tools and data analytics software
  • Understanding of internal control testing and SOX compliance
  • Familiarity with paperless audit software (CCH ProSystem fx Engagement, CaseWare, or similar)
  • Experience with accounting research tools (FASB Codification, CCH, RIA)

  • Demonstrable experience in one or more of the following industries:
