This role sits within the specialist NFP team, offering the opportunity to work with charities, higher education institutions, and trade unions while making a real impact in the sector.
The Role:
I am seeking an experienced External Audit Senior Manager to join their rapidly growing NFP team. You'll lead a portfolio of clients in the NFP sector and help ensure they deliver exceptional client service and high-quality audits.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a client-focused environment, has a passion for the NFP sector, and is eager to contribute to business development, marketing, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Management:
- Lead a portfolio of NFP clients, ensuring excellent service delivery.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing technical advice and guidance.
Audit & Technical Excellence:
- Plan, supervise, and review audit work, ensuring compliance with Charities SORP, FRS 102, and the Further and Higher Education SORP.
- Review statutory accounts for accuracy and adherence to standards.
- Provide high-quality technical advice and demonstrate a commitment to audit quality.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, fostering their professional development.
- Conduct performance appraisals and provide ongoing support.
- Assist with recruitment for the audit department.
Business Development:
- Participate in marketing events, tenders, and article writing.
- Identify opportunities for new business and contribute to growth initiatives.
Administrative Duties:
- Oversee billing and staff-related administrative tasks.
- Perform ad hoc duties in line with your role as needed.
What They Are Looking For:
Qualifications & Experience:
- ACA or ACCA qualified with proven experience as an audit manager in a practice environment.
- Strong expertise in the NFP sector, including charities, higher education, and trade union audits.
Technical Knowledge:
- Experience with Charities SORP, Further and Higher Education SORP, and FRS 102.
- Demonstrated commitment to audit quality and technical excellence.
Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Proven ability to supervise and develop junior staff.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
