Job Description:
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in managing complex accounting engagements, supervising staff, and delivering high-quality financial reporting and advisory services to our clients. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong technical accounting skills and excellent client communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Engagement Management
- Lead multiple client accounting and tax engagements from planning through completion
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships
- Prepare and review complex financial statements, tax returns, and supporting documentation
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP) and tax regulations
2. Staff Supervision and Development
- Mentor and train junior accountants and staff accountants
- Provide guidance on technical accounting issues and best practices
- Conduct performance reviews and support professional development
- Delegate tasks and monitor work quality and efficiency
3. Technical Accounting Duties
- Perform advanced account reconciliations
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis
- Prepare month-end and year-end closing entries
- Assist in audit preparation and support
- Develop and implement accounting procedures and internal controls
4. Client Advisory Services
- Provide strategic financial advice to clients
- Identify opportunities for operational and financial improvements
- Communicate complex financial information clearly to clients
- Assist in business planning and financial forecasting
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with consolidated financial statements
