Senior Tax Manager


Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our clients dynamic professional services team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of tax expertise, client management, and leadership capabilities in a top-tier accounting firm environment.
Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex tax compliance and planning engagements for high-net-worth individuals, corporations, partnerships, and small to mid-sized businesses across diverse industries
  • Develop and implement comprehensive tax strategies to optimize client tax positions while ensuring full regulatory compliance
  • Review and prepare federal, state, and local tax returns with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Conduct sophisticated tax research and provide expert technical guidance on emerging tax legislation and regulatory changes
  • Mentor and supervise junior tax professionals, including performance coaching, work assignment, and professional development
  • Lead client engagement teams, manage client relationships, and serve as primary point of contact for complex tax matters
  • Participate in business development activities, including client prospecting and proposal preparation
  • Collaborate with partners and other practice leaders to drive firm growth and strategic initiatives


Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive tax management experience in a public accounting firm
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
  • Strong proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Experience with corporate, partnership, and individual taxation


Required Technical Skills:

  • Advanced tax planning techniques
  • Comprehensive understanding of tax code complexities
  • Proficiency with ProSystem fx, UltraTax, or similar tax preparation software
  • Strong Excel and data analysis capabilities


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with multi-state tax compliance
  • Previous experience in a Big Four or top-tier accounting firm
