Job: Tax Practice Leader/Tax Managing Director
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a proactive client advisor, fostering trust and long-term partnerships.
- Drive business growth by attracting new clients and expanding services for existing clients, including cross-serving opportunities.
- Mentor and coach staff on effective business development strategies.
- Lead the planning, marketing, and development of a specialized department, with potential profit responsibility.
- Ensure the team meets budgeted financial goals, including timely billing and fee collection.
- Oversee administrative tasks and participate in senior operations management as needed.
- Promote a collaborative team environment and cultivate a positive organizational culture.
- Maintain quality control standards to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
- Take on additional responsibilities as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 12+ years of tax experience with a top-tier firm.
- Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of corporate tax matters across industries.
- Experience with federal tax controversies, practices, and procedures.
- Proven leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and develop junior team members.
- Strong consulting mindset with a focus on integrating seamlessly into clients' teams.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work that exceeds client expectations.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and self-starter attitude.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in public accounting or a related field.
- 10+ years of supervisory experience.
- Active CPA or equivalent certification required.
- Exceptional ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple assignments.
- Proficiency in relevant technology and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven integrity, leadership, and commitment to client service.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Compensation:
- Annual salary target: $250,000-$400,000, based on education, experience, and skill set.
