Position Overview


The Senior Audit Associate plays a critical role in planning and executing audit engagements while providing guidance to junior staff members. This position requires strong analytical skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to build client relationships.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day execution of audit engagements, ensuring compliance with professional standards and firm methodologies
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop junior audit staff on engagements
  • Identify and communicate accounting and auditing issues to management and propose solutions
  • Prepare and review financial statements and audit documentation
  • Participate in risk assessment procedures and development of audit plans
  • Execute audit procedures in areas including cash, accounts receivable, inventory, fixed assets, accounts payable, and revenue recognition
  • Identify process improvements and internal control recommendations
  • Communicate with clients to gather information, discuss findings, and resolve issues
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and client relationship management
  • Stay current on accounting standards and industry developments


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 2-4 years of public accounting experience with a focus on audit
  • Preferably in process of obtaining CPA certification
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and GAAS
  • Experience with audit software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and team collaboration skills
  • Experience in specific industries such as manufacturing, nonprofit, or financial services is a plus
