Role Description

As Financial Controller Benelux, you will be responsible for safeguarding company assets and preparing monthly financial statements, as well as key internal reports that measure the organisation's performance. You will report directly to the Finance Director and lead the finance team in the Benelux region.



Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Report to the Finance Director with timely and accurate financial information
  • Support and assist the Finance Director with statutory reporting deadlines and special projects
  • Manage all finance and accounting operations, coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts and report variances
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
  • Lead the finance team, with a focus on accuracy in monthly closings and accounting processes
  • Collaborate with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Train and guide new and existing employees in the company's financial systems
  • Closely monitor the company's inventory and depository accounts
  • Responsible for all external group and subsidiary statutory reporting
  • Responsible for all tax compliance, including corporate tax and VAT returns
  • Provide technical accounting expertise to the organisation
  • Responsible for the full spectrum of financial accounting and reporting requirements (IFRS, Dutch and US GAAP)


Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in a similar role
  • Excellent command of Dutch language, good knowledge of English and/or French is an advantage
  • RA/ CA/ CPA/ ACCA/ CIMA qualification or finalist stages
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel proficiency
  • Experience in conducting cost reduction analyses
  • Extensive knowledge of financial regulations and legislation
  • Experience in building relationships with external parties such as auditors, banks and statutory organisations
  • Ability to prepare accurate financial reports within specific deadlines
  • Customer-oriented approach, discreet and professional with good communication skills
  • Organised with a methodical approach to work
  • Strong team player with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform under time pressure
