About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Senior with 5-7 years of public accounting experience to join their growing tax practice in Glen Rock, NJ. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of business taxation and will work with our diverse client base while mentoring junior staff members.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex federal and multi-state tax returns for partnerships, S-corporations, C-corporations, and their high-net-worth owners
- Manage client relationships and respond to inquiries regarding tax planning, compliance matters, and financial strategies
- Identify tax saving opportunities and develop innovative solutions for business clients
- Review workpapers and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Supervise and mentor tax associates, delegating assignments and reviewing their work
- Collaborate with tax managers and partners on complex client matters and special projects
- Maintain current knowledge of changing tax regulations and their impact on our clients
- Participate in year-end tax planning and projections for business entities
- Coordinate with clients to ensure timely receipt of tax information and resolution of outstanding items
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of public accounting experience with emphasis on business taxation
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA license preferred
- Advanced knowledge of partnership, S-corporation, and C-corporation taxation
- Experience with multi-state taxation and nexus issues
- Proficiency with tax software such as CCH ProSystem fx, UltraTax, or similar platforms
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to mentor junior staff
- Experience with tax planning, consulting, and projections
Location
This position is based in our Glen Rock, NJ office. Candidates must reside within commutable distance to Glen Rock. Our office is conveniently located near public transportation options and major highways serving Bergen County and the greater New York metropolitan area.
