Professional Services Client
We are working with an established payroll bureau in the Aylesbury area seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead their payroll operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned payroll professional to take ownership of a well-established client portfolio whilst enjoying exceptional flexibility.
The Role
As Payroll Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end payroll process for approximately 200 SME clients, managing a small team of one direct report. This position offers genuine autonomy and the chance to shape payroll operations within a supportive professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly and weekly payroll processing for circa 200 clients
- Lead and develop one team member
- Ensure compliance with current payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
- Handle complex payroll queries and client relationship management
- Oversee pension auto-enrolment processes
- Manage year-end procedures including P60s and P11Ds
- Maintain accurate payroll records and reporting
What You Need
- Minimum 7 years' payroll experience within professional services
- Proven experience managing client payrolls
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC procedures
- Previous team management or supervisory experience a bonus as the role has 1 direct report
- Proficiency with modern payroll software systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong client service and communication skills
